Quote:
1.In seven years the tree will grow to twice your height.
2.In seven years the tree will grow to twice taller than you.
3.In seven years the tree will grow to twice taller than you are.

Someone said that #1 is correct while the others are incorrect.
But as far as I'm concerned, #2 and #3 are also right. Am I right?
Can you let me know if I'm wrong and why?

Thanks.

I have never heard "twice taller." I have, however, heard "twice as tall".

I made four examples above acceping your teaching. Would you tell me if the above are correct each?

Thanks.

Number 1 is okay.
The others aren't quite right. I think I would use:
In seven years the tree will be twice as tall as you (are).
In seven years the tree will grow to be twice as tall as you (are).
In seven years the tree will grow twice as tall as you (are).

I don't think you can be "twice as tall as your height."

The 'to' makes me restless, somehow.
I would say
In seven years the tree will grow twice your height.
