I doubt that this sentence isn't correct.
Why present-tense? not will~??
I'm of option that correct expression is "then you will compound the blah~"
Besides,
"then" means that one thing happens after another, or is after another on a list.
How come "have compounded" is correct?

You might have a mixed type I (first or future) if clause with a type III (3rd or past) main clause if this clause is written as �then you would have compounded the effects considerably.�
If you replace �have compounded� with �will compound�, you�ve a Type I conditional.
I could easily turn the sentence into a pure type III: If you had combined the effects of real stress with caffeine, you would have compounded the effects considerably.
Depending on the intent, you could write it in almost any of the pure type or acceptable mixed type conditionals. |
