I took a few pictures of me sitting on a couch with THE SIMPSON'S FAMILY, well, they were just mannequins.
I tried to say that I saw The Simpson's mannequins outside of a theatre. They were life-sized mannequins, the whole family was sitting on a couch. I went to sit with them and had a picture taken.
Does that make sense to you guys?
Thanks a gazillion! |

It's pretty good, but change it to the Simpson family (no possessive needed).
Also, most likely - "I had a few pictures taken of..." (unless they let you set up your own camera with a time delay and then jump into the picture before the camera clicked). |

1Can I take a picture with you?
Is that how you ask people to be in a picture?
2My day ended on a bad note.
Is that a way to say "my day had a bad ending"?
3He may not *give* the nature of a conversation.
understand?
4I accidentally wore my shoes *right to left*, I was so embarrassed when a friend pointed that out.
5 He's looking up =he is doing great?
6. You can not stop on a dime. =you can't suddenly stop the car?
Thank you guys again for your time and patience. |

1. "Can I take a picture with you?" is fine. You can also say, "Would you mind if we take a picture together?" or "Let's take a picture together."
2. Yes, a bad note, or a sour note, or a sad note all would do, depending on the circumstances. It can also end on an up note, a happy note, a hopeful note.
3. Sorry, I don't get your meaning.
4. Usually you would say "I put my shoes on the wrong feet" or "I put my shoes on wrong."
5. When things are looking up, it means that it seems the future is going to be better. You usually don't hear that a person is looking up, but you might say something like "his condition is looking up" if he was injured but is recovering nicely.
6. Yes, it means that it takes some distance to come to a stop. A dime is a small U.S. coin, worth 10 cents. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

1. But if you aren't asking to be a part of the picture, you would replace "with" with "of."
Can I take a picture with you? - You want to be in the picture with them.
Can I take a picture of you? - You want a picture of them only. |

I think you probably heard, "He may not get the nature..." Yes, that means understand.
So that's great, you "got it" from the context of what was said despite not clearly hearing a crucial word. |
