From this dialogue, what is the most suitable response for the blank?(I want to know why the answer is suitable) |

a) and c) would not make a good sentence.
b) would be okay if the conversation was :
I was told that you are leaving the company in the summer.
That's right. I am going to start a new job. (In this case, the person hasn't left yet, but will leave when summer comes.)
d) is the best one for me.
I was told that you had left the company in the summer.
That's right I've taken a new job. (It was last summer when you left the company, and you are already working in the new job.) |
