a) will be left b) are leaving c) has been leaving d) had left

From this dialogue, what is the most suitable response for the blank?(I want to know why the answer is suitable)

a) and c) would not make a good sentence.

b) would be okay if the conversation was :
I was told that you are leaving the company in the summer.
That's right. I am going to start a new job. (In this case, the person hasn't left yet, but will leave when summer comes.)

d) is the best one for me.
I was told that you had left the company in the summer.
That's right I've taken a new job. (It was last summer when you left the company, and you are already working in the new job.)
