The world seems in turmoil at this time and part of it is due to leaders who believe force is the only way to solve problems. I've just started a poll on my website and with just one click tell us who you think is the greatest threat to world peace. There are eight names to choose from.

No time to consider such mundane issues as world peace when the news media is focused entirely on one important thing:
Paris Hilton in Jail!
Twisted Evil

what is happing now is everyine is looking at the minor things..celebrities..fashion..soup operas... thats because the media makes it the important things that everybody should know...

i think this is a way to let the people ignorant about what is really happing..

for me the ways and stratedies that Bush uses do not make the situation better in the world..but it gives the others the right to do the same.. he doesnt respect UN and other instituations..so other countries do the same..

The problem with the UN it is not a democratic institution. It's unfortunate that a few powerful states can veto resolutions even when they have majority support. I'd like to see a new charter and I'd like to see a UN Peacekeeping Force like the Foreign Legion where people of all nations join independent of their countries.

As for forcing western style democracy on traditional cultures I think that's up to them to sort out. It took a lot of sacrifice over many years to win the rights enjoyed by the West. It has to evolve in tune with the traditional values of the people, not be forced down their throats with a barrel of a gun.
