What do you think is the best area to study in the US? I mean for Asian people. It should not be too cold or not so dangerous.

I went to Chicago few years ago and found it's too cold to live there. Also, Texas is too hot and dry sometimes.

Still thinking which area is the best place to stay in the U for a few months of English program.

Check out San Francisco then. Might be a little cold for you, but it's not snowy cold. If that doesn't sound good, try Los Angeles Wink

Agree. San Francisco is fine (lovely weather) as long as you don't speak Chinese. If you do, you might end up improving your Chinese speaking skill instead of learning any English. Los Angeles is also fine if you don't mind the summer heat and traffic jams. How about Hawaii? If you have the money, more power to you. Have you considered studying abroad as an exchange student?

Tennessee is one of the safest states in the USA.

There are several big cities (Memphis and Nashville) but its better to study in a rural or suburban area and visit the city on the weekend-since those areas can be expensive to live and not as safe.

My university is in Cookeville, its one of the safest places in Tennessee.
If you live off campus most apartments are cheap and the cost of living is very affordable.

Many of my students like these aspects, so they can concentrate and study during the weekdays.

I have just been looking over the website for Intercultural Communications College in Hawaii - www.icchawaii.edu and their programs look good.

I'd go for Hawaii if I were a student. Otherwise a smaller city on the mainland.

Check out UCI. University of California at Irvine; also known as University of Chinese Immigrants.

I live in Irvine. Lovely weather, about 30% Asian population, and we have two huge Asian food supermarkets.

If I got a chance to study abroad, I wouldn't choose a place full of Chinese Immigrants. if I just wanna get along with Chinese and don't wanna learn authentic foreign languages, why should I go abroad? Besides, if you visit a strange country, that would be a great chance to get to know new people with different cultures, lifestyles, thinkingstyles, etc. then making friends with them would be a good way to experience those exciting\exotic things.

I agree with you.
