Hello,
I have just been told that the answer below is not quite correct.
A: Which city would you most like to visit.
B: I would like to visit Ireland because I think it's very beautiful.
I have been told that since B has never been to Ireland and therefore unlikely to know for a fact that Ireland is beautiful or not, the tense in the second part should be "would be". Is it that it is unnatural to use "is" or is it absolutely grammatically incorrect?
What about:
I would like to visit Rome because I heard it is beautiful.
Thank you,
Nawee |

B is correct. Your question really has nothing to do with grammar. It is about a choice of the appropriate answer. "would be" is more appropriate.
However, I have never been to China but I have seen photographs. I could say, " I want to go to China because it is beautiful" (based on the photos that I saw) |

The other reason it's incorrect is because Ireland is not a city. _________________ wintersweet
