The FIR materials have a biggest effect on the tap water.

Hi River,

"A" is indefinite and implies that there are (or could be) other "biggest" effects. But the superlative ("-est") implies only one - there can be only one "biggest." Therefore, you need either "the biggest" or "a big" - "a biggest" is incorrect.
