"I need you to help me," Angela announced to our group before school the next day. "
______ the day we asked around as Anegla suggested, and wrote down people's feelings about the band and the cost.
A. On B. During C. For

YOu said only "during" works, I think I can understand it is the best choice.
Thank you.

But Why can't I use A to refer to "on that particular day."?

Since we can say for the next few days, why can't I say "for the day" to express "for a certain period of time"?

Could you help me again.

Jason

"But Why can't I use A to refer to 'on that particular day.'?"
--"On the day" is not "on that particular day," which would be fine to use if you wanted to.

"Since we can say for the next few days, why can't I say 'for the day' to express 'for a certain period of time'?"
--Because "for the day" does not mean "for a certain period of time."

The only answer is that no one will understand these things to mean what you want them to mean if you express them with "on the day" or "for the day." They are not idioms that mean the same as "on that particular day" or "for a certain period of time," respectively.
