In the following passage,
1) Did stock market rise happen after the author saw the interview? Or
2) Did stock market rise happen befor the author saw the interview?
If #2 is right, isn't "There had been a major rise in the market three days after he had sold." a right sentence instead of "Three days later, there....market." in the respect of tense.?
"I saw a businessman interviewed who had recently sold all his stock in an important company. Three days later, there was a major rise in the market. Had the businessman waited just a few days, he would have earned much more money. Was he depressed? No, he wasn't. In fact, when a reprter asked how he felt about the deal, he replied, "I'm satisfied. The dal was a good one. I might have done better, but I also could have done worse. I never look back." |
