|
|
Hello Teachers,
Please help me to understand the usage of KNOW and it's past tense KNEW.
1) When do I say "I know this person" and "I knew this person"?
2) Is it correct to say " My belated wishes for your birthday"
Please explain. I always have trouble in the preposition usage. Please help me on how to learn the correct usage of preposition.
Thanks in anticipation _________________ Thanks and Regards,

1. If you are acquainted with someone, you know that person. If you were acquainted in the past but have lost touch with the person, you knew that person once / at one time. If the person has died, you knew that person.
2. Usually what you hear / read is, "Belated happy birthday." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
