Either could be correct, depending on what you want to say. And depending on whether you mean the words as adjectives or verbs.

Adjectives: I don't like to be around infected people (people infected with disease). I also stay away from affected people (people who affect phony traits).

Verbs: The virus infected people all around the world. The stirring words of Abraham Lincoln affected people of all ages.

they are both correct depending on the context, I would have to know what else is written after and before that phrase.

"infected" usually refers to some sort of virus, bacteria, or disease - for example "Mary's cut is infected", meaning that her cut has some sort of bacteria in it.

"affected" means that something has had an influence on something else - for example "i have been deeply affected by my mother's death", meaning that her death has had some sort of impact on me

I hope this is clear and that it helps you
