The ability to think about things in a practical way and make sensible decisions is called common sense or good sense, is'nt it?
And do you also call it "good common sense"?

Thank you in advance!

What you describe is most commonly referred to as "common sense". "good sense" is similar in meaning but the use of these two terms is different, in my experience.

"common sense" is generally used to describe a person's ongoing characteristic, while "good sense" is generally used in regard to a specific thing a person did or did not do.

We usuallly say things like:
'John has a lot of common sense', or 'John has no common sense'.
'John had the good sense (to)(not to) do ......something......'.

"good common sense" is redundant, and I wouldn't use that phrase. (we don't talk about 'bad common sense')

Hello, 2006-san.
Thank you for your comment! It was a great help.
I think I understand the difference between "common sense" and "good sense".
