Dear Teachers,
1. What theater do you often see plays at?
2. What theater do you often watch live music at?
- Are these ok to say?
Thanks so much !

Although you could watch a live music performance, the object is to listen to it. There are a number of terms for arenas of performance. Concert hall, symphony hall, opera house etc.
You go to a theater to see a play. |

It probably was true once that you went to a theater to see a play. Then came movie theaters. When multiplex movie theaters came along, most old one-screen movie theaters were abandoned.
Today, many small cities have revived their old movie theaters for all kinds of events. This week there'll be an orchestra, next week a comedian, then a pop singer, then a play, etc. Some cities decide to call them theaters and others name them Performing Arts Centers (PACs). |
