4.The things people will do for charity never cease amazing me.
5.The decision to cease using CFCs in packaging
6.The decision to cease to use CFCs in packaging

Are there any differences between 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6?
If any, what are they?

Thanks.

In the stand alone sentences 1 through 4, I prefer 1 and 3.

Of 5 and 6 , which are incomplete sentences, I think 5 is more likely.
For example: The decision to cease using CFCs in packaging, will be a benefit to the environment flows more easily than: The decision to cease to use CFCs in packaging will be a benefit to the environment.
I guess you should try not to line up two infinitives one behind the other in most cases.
