Is it correct? I know that 'in cash' is right rather than 'by cash'.

Without "a," it is a common question.

Will you pay by cash or credit?
Will you pay by cash or credit card?
Cash or credit?

All are used by commonly by cashiers. "To pay in cash" is likely in most contexts, but not when being asked by which method you will be paying for this transaction.
