Please tell me what "kill for" means.

She has a talent- magical, sly, cumulative - that most writers would kill for.

Is it similar to "die for" or something??

Yes. It's an old expression, similar to "I'd kill for . . . ." "I'm so thirsty, I'd kill for a bottle of water."
