Teachers,
I watched a show just now, something I don't get from it. here it is.
The couple are both big on food, one day they have a fight, and they quarrel badly, the wife calls the husband Stupid Foodie, and the husband calls the wife Food S-lut.
That's confusing. what do they mean?
Thanks |

It must have been a situation comedy.
Calling someone a foodie is a slangy way of labeling them according to their passion. I've been known to call one person who is an avid cyclinst a bikie, for example.
Well, if someone calls me a stupid foodie, how do I top that? I might be a foodie, but you're a food junkie / a food slave / a food fanatic / a food s l u t! (Play canned laughter while she hits me in the face with a pumpkin pie. I love pumpkin pie.) _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

Turns out it's slang, no wonder I couldn't find it in my dictionary. Now I got it. a foodie is someone who is too much into food, it may be derogatory or not, but Food sl-ut sounds worse than foodie
