Hi, teachers
I saw a word rain-on-snow in the news and reports. But this word cant be found in the dictionary. I only know that it will cause the floods. Is it meaning of the rain and the snow falling at the same time? Or is it a proper noun stand for another phenomenon?
Thanks

If there is a lot of snow or ice clogging the storm drains in the streets, rain will cause flooding because there's nowhere for the water to go. Sometimes storms start out as snow and turn to rain (or vice versa). That's all it means to me, anyway. |
