Dear teachers,
If I'm not mistaken, when a number is between 20-30, we can say twenty something. we can also say thirty something, fourty something, etc, likewise. my question is
1. if a number is between 10-20, how do we say it? Can we say ten something?
2. Does some five hundred mean the number is a little bit more than five hundred? Can way say five hundred something?
Thank you and looking forward to your replies. |

1. In most cases teens will work.
2.
Some five hundred - approximately 500 - a little more or a little less
Five hundred [and] something - a little more than 500 |

No, and isn't it odd that we don't usually say that? Here are some of the ways to say it:
more than ten
ten plus
ten or more
over ten |
