I saw #1 in a book. But I think that #2 is correct because the word 'inferior' is a counterable noun. Can you tell me which is correct?

Hi Chan-Seung Lee, "Inferior" is also an adjective. The first sentence would be better as: Slaves were despised by everyone and were looked upon as being inferior. --lotus _________________ War does not make one great --Yoda
