To lure away means to entice the person away from something. A lure is something that attracts something or someone--like a fishing lure, next to the hook, which attracts the fish so it will bite the hook.
The woman has a husband and home, and someone else convinced her to leave that behind and go with him.
It was fine for a while, but he turned out to be a bad guy after all, so she left him and went back home to her husband. By then, however, her husband had gotten over her and had found someone new. He didn't want his wife back. They had a bitter divorce, and now she is sorry, but it is too late.
It is a sad story. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
