Dear teachers,
There is a sentence like this" The shop has a variety of fruit".Can we use "fruits" here? And when to use the plural form?

Yes, you could, but native speakers seldom use 'fruits' unless they are writing a paper on pomiculture.

| With the singular, the focus is on all of the fruits as one entity. With the plural, the focus is on each individual type of fruit. Either usage is OK. |
