Hello,
I want to know which one is better or correct and why.
1. A: I knew you would make it. Congratulations!
B: Thanks. I'm glad that I didn't give it up / give up.
2. Please go home and get some rest / rests.
3. I've caught / I've had a cold for two weeks.

1. It's "give up," meaning quit trying or surrender.
2. Use "rest," meaning taking it easy, maybe going to sleep.
3. I've had a cold for two weeks. I caught cold / I caught this cold two weeks ago. I have caught colds every winter for the last three years. I hate to catch colds. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
