Dear teachers,
Like the phrase 'Once in a blue moon' which refers to a very rare event, can anyone think of a phrase that conveys the meaning of an event that occurs once in a while or occasionally?
Can anyone provide the most commonly used phrases (by native speakers) for these situations?
--> Very rare event - Once in a blue moon
--> Rare event - ?
--> Not so common event - ?
--> Common everyday event - ?
Thank you,
Sabrina. |

Hello Sabrina Waiz -
'once in a lifetime' --> very rare event
'once in a blue moon' --> rare event
'now and then' --> not so common (occasionally)
'time and (time) again' --> common eveyday (repeatedly)
