Hello

I have a question. Could someone help me?

Does "follow up on" below mean "add comments"?

"Do you have any comments?" "
"I did want to follow up on the suggestion on that matter"

Thank you in advance.

Yes it could mean that, but it depends on the context.

Sometimes it means I'd like to add comments to something that was discussed before (e.g., in a meeting).

Sometimes it means I'd like to ask a question about something that was discussed before (e.g., at a press conference).

Sometimes it means I'll investigate your question and get back to you:

Ex:

Boss: Did that proposal arrive, yet?
Employee: I don't know. I'll follow up on it and get back to you.

Sometimes it means I'll complete a task:

Ex:

Boss: What? Jones didn't finish the document?
Employee: Don't worry, I'll follow up on it. (I'll either finish it myself or I'll let Jones know that she needs to finish it ASAP - as soon as possible.)

(Probably it has other meanings, too, that I'm not thinking of right now.)
