Dear teachers,

When used as an Idiom as in 'I am going to call on my friend next Saturday', doesn't 'Call on' means that I am planning to pay a visit to my friend next Saturday?

Can you think of any other meanings to this Idiom - 'Call on'?

Thanks in advance,

Sabrina.

Yes, you will visit him or her. I can't think of any other meaning for it.

A teacher can call on a student to answer a question or explain something.
