Hello, teachers!!
(1) Tom has three other children except David.

I am not sure why the sentence above isn't correct. Would you tell me why?
"Except" means "other than," so (2) Tom has three other children other than David, is correct, I guess.

| "Except" can also mean "everything but," and I think that is what the listener would understand. And then the sentence is confusing. |
