Is it grammatically right to use "blessing" or "bless" instead of "blessed" in the underlined sentence?
"After asking the gods to leave the mandala and return to their homes, the monks scoop the sand into an urn. They begin at the outside of the picture and collect inward, working in the opposite direction from which they made the painting. The monks consider the sand blessed, and they pour it into a body of running water so its blessing can be spread as far as possible." |

No. The sand is considered to be blessed. The past participle is being used as an adjective. You cannot use the bare infinitive or the present participle instead. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
