Could you explain the meaning of these proverbs.

(1)It is an ill wind that blows nobody good.
(2)Pride goes before a fall.

1. It is an ill wind that blows nobody good. It means that even bad things have potential for good, at least for someone. If you lose money in the stock market, someone else gains, after all. It must be something very bad that does not benefit someone, somehow.

2. Pride goes before a fall. Also rendered as "Pride goeth before a fall," a short version of the way it appears in the King James version of the Bible: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18.

It means that pride is the predecessor / precursor of one's downfall. You should remain humble, however great your achievements, because as soon as you begin to be haughty, you are likely to fail.
