| Along with traditional key export items such as semiconductors and mobile phones, digital TVs also enjoyed brisk sales with overseas shipments increasing by 22 percent on-year. |
In the quote, I couldn't look up 'on-year' in my dictionary. So I think that 'on-year' is incorrect and 'one year' or 'a year' would be fine instead of 'on-year'. But I'm not sure.
Can you correct me if I was wrong?
Thanks. |

I think it means that overseas shipments increased by 22% over the course of the year. It's not a customary way to phrase it, but that's what it appears to be. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
