Hello, teachers!!

Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head?
?BJ Thomas

Raindrops are falling on my head
and just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed,
nothing seems to fit
those raindrops are falling on my head,?they keep falling

so I just did me some talking to the sun,
and I said I didn't like the way he got things done,
sleeping on the job
those raindrops are falling on my head they keep falling

But there's one thing, I know
the blues they sent to greet me won't defeat me.
It won't be long 'till happiness steps up to greet me

*Raindrops keep falling on my head
but that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red.
Crying's not for me, cause
I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
because I'm free
nothing's worrying me

It won't be long 'till happiness steps up to greet me

*?repeat)
----->
I couldn't solve the sentence structure even if I thought it for a long time. Why do you need "me" in the above sentence? Do you have to write the word "me" definitely? I don't think you need it, I guess.

(*)
so I just did me some talking to the sun,
and I said I didn't like the way he got things done,

Thank you in advance.

The "me" is not needed, and in fact it is bad grammar, but it helps in the song to fill out the line. In some regions, people will put a reflexive or dative "me" into their sentences, but most English teachers would probably consider it non-standard or substandard. Some examples, all of which work without the "me":

I'm going to get me something to eat.
I tried to find me some slippers to wear.
I think I'll just sit me down for a spell / a while.
I've had me a good time this weekend.

Sometimes it can be done with "you" as well:

Get you a rope and make yourself a belt.
