Hello, teachers!!
Thanks to modern machinery, production is outrunning consumption. Organized waste among consumers is the first condition of our industrial prosperity. The sooner a consumer throws away the object he has bought and buys another, the better for the producer.

I looked up the word "organized" in the dictionary and understood the word literally, but I counldn't understand "organized waste."
What do the phrase mean? Could you explain it to me?
Thank you in advance. |

To me, in this context, "organized waste" alludes to pre-arranged or encouraged 'waste' (using something quickly and tossing it away). The second part of the quote explains the term somewhat, by pointing out that products made to be used and thrown away quickly ('wasted'), are an important economic consideration.
That's the quote's opinion, by the way, not mine!
Does that help?
