Hello, teachers!!

Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition.

I am not sure about this quote. Does Timothy Leary want to say that women should not think "Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition"? Does he want to say that men and women are equal?

Thank you in advance.

He is implying that men are really not so special. So a woman who seeks to be equal to men is seeking only to be average, and that is not very ambitious. To have ambition, you must seek to be better than the average man.
