Hello, teachers!!
(1) Mother is making dinner.
(2) My mother is making dinner.
----->
I think that (2) is right and (1) is wrong. I googled and found no "Mother" except the headlines of newspapers.
However, why is (1) wrong? Could you tell me about it?
Thank you in advance. |

Most families don't refer to their mother as Mother. Usually, they call her Mom, Mum, Mummy, etc., Mother sounds very formal, but it is used in some families.
When your father arrives home from work he might ask you, "Where is everybody?" You might reply, "Mom is making dinner, Jane is watching TV and John is playing baseball." |
