				| When roasting a turkey, one can tell whether the turkey is done by putting a fork in it.  Same thing when baking a cake and when doing other kinds of cooking.  When something is done, it is ready to eat. 
 People also use "done" to mean "finished," although they aren't really the same thing.
 
 Some sports announcer was announcing a game when a player appeared to be finished, defeated, ready to be pulled from the lineup, and he said, "Stick a fork in him, he's done."
 
 Your teacher was just repeating the phrase about himself / herself.  Probably what he / she said was, "I'm done.  Stick a fork in me." It's a fairly common expression.
