Hello, teachers!!
Disnyey animation has long been an object of veneration among Japanese animators. Osamu Tezuka, who was revered as the "god of manga," watched Bambi eighty times, until he had memorized every frame, and dreamed of equaling or surpassing Disney realism in his own animation. It was not to be.

I am not sure about "Disney realism"? Could you explain to me what they mean?
I looked up the word "realism" in the dictionary and found that it meant: "An inclination toward literal truth and pragmatism."
However, I was not able to understand "Disney realism" in the sentence above.
Thank you in advance. |

.
It just means the ability of the Disney animation to appear realistic-- movements, for instance, that reproduce those of real deer. As I recall, Walt Disney had all his animators watch nature films of real deer over and over so that they could draw their movements accurately in the cartoon.
