Please explain the meaning of " as it turns out" in the following sentence.

It is often claimed that some people think better on their feet. As it turns out, an experiment actually proved that most people do think better in this pose. |

Means once we analyzed the results of the experiment, we found out that the supposition before the experiment was (turned out to be) wrong.
