I'm wondering if this sentence is gramatically right

Could you please tell me the way to the post office?

Is the sentence too polite and does it sound sarcastic?

Thank you for your help.

It's correct, it isn't sarcastic, but it is quite polite. It would be okay to ask someone you don't know. It would be strange to use it with your family.
