The question is as follows:
Ken _______ the zoo. His mom will take him there next week. (a) doesn't go to (b) hasn't gone to (c) hasn't been to
The given answer is (c)
I can understand why (c) is correct, but I don't underdstand why I can't use " hasn't gone to" instead.
Thanks for your help. Susan |

To express not having ever (visited)(gone to) a place, one should say 'hasn't been to'. He hasn't been to Taiwan.
Saying only "hasn't gone to" doesn't carry the meaning of "ever". But if you say "hasn't ever gone to", the meaning changes to 'hasn't been to'.
On the other hand, if you say 'hasn't been to the zoo today', it of course just means hasn't (been)(gone) there today. |
