I often use "What kind of situation is this expression can be used?"
Did I say that right? Is this gramatically OK? |

No. It is not correct.
You can say:
In what kind of situation would this expression be appropriate?
In what kinds of situations would this expression be used?
In what kinds of situations would I use this expression?
