I have a expression from a movie script that I don't understand.
As much as I'd like to,
In what kind of situation would this expression be appropriate? |

You would use this expression to indicate that you cannot do something, but in a polite way.
It's like saying, you want to do it but you cannot for another reason.
It usually followed with the reason you cannot.
Example: As much as I would like to come to your party I can't because I already have plans.
Hope this helps! |
