Can one say:
1-He talks to me as when we were at high school.
instead of:
1a-He talks to me as he did when we were at high school.
(Meaning: He talks to me in the same way he talked to me when we were at high school. The manner is the same.)
Can one say:
2-He makes silly jokes, as when he was at high school.
instead of
2a-He makes silly jokes, as he did when he was at high school.
(Meaning: He makes silly jokes, and he made silly jokes when he was at high school. The act is the same although maybe the manner is different.) |

Yes, that is fine.

Yes. Though I would say "in high school". (Is "at high school" British English?) |
