What does "rest place" mean?
Does it mean "a place for rest" or "a rest room"?

"rest place" is not a very common term, but it certainly suggests "a place for rest". I think that 'resting place' and 'a place to rest' are more commonly used.
We are all tired and need to find (a place to rest)(a resting place).
"a rest room" is not used but 'a restroom' (no space between 'rest' and 'room') is very commonly used, and means 'a washroom / toilet'.
