"What is important is not to succeed in something but to do your best for your goal."
Is this sentence fully understandable?
And is it OK to rewrite it as follows?
"It is important to do your best for your goal, not to succeed in something."
"It is important that you do your best for your goal, not that you succeed in something."

Thank you in advance!!

I would say something like, 'What is most important is doing your best, not whether you succeed or not.'And is it OK to rewrite it as follows?

I think the following two sentences, especially the first one, de-emphasize the succeeding part too much.
"It is important to do your best for your goal, not to succeed in something."
"It is important that you do your best for your goal, not that you succeed in something."

Thank you in advance!!
