Do you accept both (1) and (2)?

(1) The reading experience is so powerful that if you come across a book that impresses or excites you when you are a child, you will never forget it as long as you live.
(2) The reading experience is so powerful that if the book you come across when you are a child impresses or excites you, you will never forget it as long as you live.

Thank you in advance

(1) is fine.
(2) should say that if a book you come across when you are a child, then it is okay.
