Textbooks explain that 'can' is used for present possibility or ability, and "will be able to" is used for future possibility and ability. But I was wondering
whether "Can you come tomorrow?" can be used or not. Another example is "Can I do it tomorrow?" Obviously, these are about future, not about the present situation. But they sound fine to me. Could someone explain this?
Thank you much! |

'can' is also used for present or future request or permission.
Can you come (back) tomorrow? This one is used to request that you come (back) tomorrow. Can I go with you tomorrow? I am asking your permission. |
