Not only I but also my coworkers attended the meeting.
My coworkers attended the meeting, as well as I.
Is it possible to change "I" to "me" in the sentences above?
Thank you in advance!

No. Me is in the objective case, but here you want the subjective case. You would never say, "Me went to the meeting."
You could rewrite it as, "Both my coworkers and I attended the meeting." "My coworkers attended the meeting, and so did I." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

Thank you so much, CP-san!
My English grammar book says that the following sentences are not necessarily wrong, so I was confused.
"John is older than me."
"Jack is as intelligent as her."

Your grammar book is trying to tell you that what some people consider "correct" is no longer used as much as the "incorrect" version. When does an "incorrect" version that is used by the majority of people become "correct"? I don't know the answer to that!
However, I will say that I would never say "John is older than I." It sounds very overly formal and "stuck-up" (Like your nose is stuck in the air because you think you are better than everyone else.) but I *would* choose it if it was on a test. Also, "John is older than I am." can also be used and sounds much better to me. |
