Leeds is a wonderful city, ________ I paid a two-day visit during Chirstmas.
A. to which B. where
I know A is definitely right. But could I choose B, too?
Is it right from the point of a native's view?
Thanks |

B wouldn't sound right. I think you have to use the word "to" when you are using the phrase "paid a visit" _________________ Learn English at Open English |

But why can we say as follows:
Leeds is the city where he lives=Leeds is the city in which he lives.
Also we have a phrase:live in someplace.
I think both examples have something in common. |

Consider this:
Leeds is a wonderful city, where I paid a two-day visit to my aunt's cottage during Chirstmas. |
