I'v been taking it for granted that either the inf. or the gerund can be equally used after the main verb begin, because grammer book I have says that.
I just realize that a native speaker seem to discriminate between to do and -ing after the verb begin.
Tell me the practical usage of begin
Can you please tell me which is the correct usage.
1 Betty gegan to ski.
2 Betty gegan skiing.
3 Betty began to realize that her husband was cheating.
4 Betty began realizing that her husband was cheating.
5 Betty began to dash for her husband's bedroom.
6 Betty began dashing for her husband's bedroom.
7 Betty began to chat with her husband.
8 Betty began chatting with her husband. |
